Joplin: recording @384kHz - Joplin: registrare a 384kHz

The Joplin 384/32 ADC is a leading edge design, actually beyond leading edge. In fact, while it's able to operate up to 384kHz on USB, no software is presently able to cope with this feature: all free and even commercial softwares only work up to 192kHz.
Actually, we know of one package which is able to use the Joplin up to its frequency limit in ASIO mode. It's an audio analyzer software for Windows written by the russian technician Shmelyoff. You can download the package from http://shmelyoff.nm.ru/. It also includes a simple wave recorder. The package is not free but it's not expensive.
We have prepared a patch for the famous free package Audacity to extend its operation up to 384kHz. The patch is already part of the source code distribution. Users with programming skills can download it and compile it in their computer to obtain an executable which is able to work with the Joplin up to 384kHz.
Next Amarra version, to be released soon, will be able to work up to 384kHz in both recording and playback.

Il Joplin 384/32 ADC è un progetto di avanguardia, forse di più. Infatti, mentre è in grado di lavorare fino a 384kHz, non è disponibile attualmente alcun software in grado di gestire questa capacità: tutti i pacchetti gratuiti e anche quelli a pagamento gestiscono al massimo 192kHz.
In effetti, conosciamo un pacchetto in grado di utilizzare il Joplin al massimo delle sue possibilità in modalità ASIO. E' un software per l'analisi audio scritto dal tecnico russo Shmelyoff. Potete scaricarlo da http://shmelyoff.nm.ru/. Include anche un semplice registratore wave. Il pacchetto non è gratuito ma non costa molto.
Abbiamo preparato una patch per famoso pacchetto Audacity, per estendere la sua funzionalità a 384kHz. La patch è già stata inclusa nella distribuzione dei codici sorgente. Gli utenti con esperienza di programmazione possono scaricarla e compilarla sulla propria piattaforma per ottenere un eseguibile in grado di funzionare col Joplin a 384kHz.
La prossima versione di Amarra, che verrà rilasciata molto presto, sarà in grado di funzionare a 384kHz sia in riproduzione che in registrazione.
